If you want to completely hide language switcher if there is no translation that will require some custom work and function where you would check if the translation exists with WPML hooks and if not then hide the current language flag in the language switcher. Also I would advise checking our suggested way of showing language switcher in custom location.

Another quick workaround would be to disable showing current language in the switcher and showing only 2nd language flag, so when it doesn’t exist it will not show up.

as a default, WPML doesn’t show that language flag if the translation doesn’t exist in that language, and it will show only 1 flag, the default language.
